"The Global Wonders series puts an emphasis on what cultures share rather than differences – everyone celebrates birthdays, children like to play sports, and we all enjoy music. I appreciated that they showed grandparents and an African-American dad who is a college professor, too. Other positive role models include families who spend time together and children who like to learn, sing, be outside and play sports. Lucie and I give Global Wonders a thumbs up. -- Ann-Marie, My Readable Feast, African-American title
"Global Wonders African-American is now a staple in our children's DVD library collection. Our daughter asks to watch it again and again (upstairs, downstairs and in the car), and each time we learn something new together. It is one DVD you don't have to feel guilty about having your child watch since it's educational and entertaining at the same time." -- Betsy, African-American title
"A Fabulous Way to Introduce Culture to Children (and Adults)!!, I get bored with most children's videos. Really. So imagine my surprised interest during "Around the World". Hence, my first review... I received a screener copy of "Around the World" at one of their shows. Global Wonders has done a great job with providing a cross-cultural, educational, entertaining experience. The kids wanted more, I WANTED MORE!! ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND!" -- Krista, Pasadena, California
Global Wonders: African-American is beautifully designed to engage children both in cognitive and aesthetic terms. It is informative in both history and the arts, yet also will engage children s feelings and social-emotional sensibilities because of the focus on what they need to do to realize their dreams. The dialogue manages to convey spontaneity and naturalness, capturing the conversational tone of child-to-child and child-to-adult conversation in a way that is developmentally appropriate, and still manages to be poetic and natural, all at once. The use of empty space as both a metaphor and as the physical setting allows the children to let their imaginations run and for Global Wonders to introduce the dream themes in such a natural way. -- Dr. J.K. Nugent, Child Development Expert, Founder Brazelton Institute, Children's Hospital, Boston and Harvard Medical School
"My four year old daughter loves this series. Like most four year old girls, she can be very picky (about everything!) and this is her hands down favorite things to watch. While being very entertaining (some of the Baby and Little Einstein people are the creative forces behind this), this is also a great educational experience. Our daughter has asked us to learn more about some of the themes touched on in this series. Overall, this is very highly recommended." -- Debbie
"As the world grows smaller -- and children grow smarter -- along comes Global Wonders, a warm and delightful new series that joyfully invites kids to open the door to the glorious diversity of our international family. Colorfully animated, cleverly scripted and crammed with live-action clips that depict the rich tapestry of our shared world culture, Global Wonders is destined to take its place among the best and brightest of children's entertainment. I love this series!" -- Bruce Kluger, Parenting Magazine
